I don't think Jimi Hendrix and SRV really count as bands.

SRV was awesome, but he didn't really bring much new to rock. he just did it better.

Okay, then Double Trouble/Triple Threat and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, I don't care. The point is Joe Strummer got his name because he couldn't play worth a shit.

Also, Jimi Hendrix is... "a band"? Nope.

Off the top of my head I would add Crosby stills Nash although they had different iterations.

The point isn't whether you can play or not. Not that I think The Ramones should be on the list.

If you're going to put a punk band on the list, ditch the Clash and Ramones, and put on the ultimate example, The Sex Pistols.

It's about "bands". They put on a massively great show, and have a massive string of hits, and play very tightly together. There's a reason that they are "popular" and have been for 40 years.
