yikes! Was checking out some single malts just now and Yamazaki 12yr is now $159 for a bottle? WTF? It was $70 just a short time ago.

BTW my current favorite is the Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10. It's unbelievably good... they're very strict about using the best/local ingredients and it has just the right amount of smoky/peat without it overpowering.

I've pretty much stopped drinking single malt Scotch due to the pricing. It's not worth what they're asking for it. If you go into a shop in the UK, there's almost always a deal where you get a really nice whisky for a fraction of the price of what they charge here.
Oddly enough, it feels like Johnny Walker black is cheaper than it used to be, and it's not bad at all.

For some odd reason, male surgeons get tons of whiskey gifts. The ladies tend to get perfume. Probably tastes awful.
