I haven't had one in a few years...and I've got some sweet taters at home...This thread may have flung a craving on me. They should be pretty good right now, with the oval cups and white oak acorns on the ground.

Mrs. George's first horse, Charley, used to come running up to the fence to greet her. [image: 1670077887796-screenshot-2022-12-03-at-8.31.13-am.png]

@kluurs said in B-21: B52s can't be around forever. It's amazing to think how long that plane has been flying. I wonder what the over/under is on that plane still in service at the century mark. Nothing else we have can do what a B-52 can do.

It's always hard to know what to say with these situations - but I hope both Rainman and Klaus see better days, and soon.

Not by me they weren't. Trump won the election in 2016. He lost in 2020. I'm happy to acknowledge this. I acknowledge that too. You don't seem happy to acknowledge it. I was really happy when that fat orange douchebag lost. I laughed like a drain. I know, it's a bit unseemly. Still, it was funny. I’m easily three times as happy as you are to acknowledge it.

@taiwan_girl said in Speaking of decolonization: It was pretty "seedy" when under Portugal. I think it really took off when China took over, which is kind of surprising. (I once had a taxi drive me around the course that the Formual 1 (or maybe Formula 3) raced. Do they still have that race? It's F3 - and they still run it, although it's been cancelled of late due to Covid. Both Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher won the race before becoming big stars in F1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macau_Grand_Prix

No so related, but this year I got a letter from the bone marrow registry saying basically I was off their list as a donor because I’m too old. Like after 20 yrs & no phone calls from them I was booted. I feel old & rejected.

@George-K said in Fleeing Armed Robber Kills His Pursuing Victim, No Murder Charge: @Axtremus said in Fleeing Armed Robber Kills His Pursuing Victim, No Murder Charge: What would the logic be if we replace "clerk" with "police"? Presumably, the fleeing robber was not a threat to anyone's life. Unless I missed it, he was, after all, fleeing, and not shooting at anyone. No threat to life means use of deadly force is not justified. Hell, in Chicago, the police would even be allowed to chase him. By the law, not justified. Does not meet the "imminent danger" threshold. OTOH, shooting thieves is fine by me. And for killing a guy who was chasing the thief, I'd still like to hang the thief.
