@taiwan_girl said in Maine rejects sweeping electric vehicle mandate: Exactly. Not the problems with the vehicle I'm not sure how you define a problem, but below freezing temperatures cause lower capacity and longer charging times. And other problems. https://electrifynews.com/news/auto/cold-weather-impact-on-evs-how-freezing-temperatures-affect-electric-vehicles/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwnv-vBhBdEiwABCYQAwzeD9D4OwlfHETmBqxXZQGG7UmxaHS0KtkgeWKO0cj2rhwETyBTEhoC6LAQAvD_BwE EVs may be popular in Scandinavia, that doesn't mean cold weather is not a problem. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/electric-vehicles-arent-ready-for-extreme-heat-and-cold-heres-how-to-fix-them/#:~:text=When it hits 20 degrees,Automobile Association found in 2019. So overall, the Lightning lost about a third of its efficiency—and range—in the cold. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1138989_ford-f-150-lightning-winter-range-charging-test-drive-review#:~:text=F-150 Lightning cold-weather range&text=And over the course of,and range—in the cold.

I will say this… If I could just maintain the salt & pepper, I would be happy. Old enough to know what I’m doing, young enough to do it…

@George-K Great picture!!! It would be interesting to see if this year class was "odd" for graduating in 4 years due to pandemic, etc. The pandemic messed up a lot of things.

How much stored energy would a drone need to carry with it to generate laser beams with sufficient destructive power in any given combat scenario? That amount of energy is probably also enough to significantly extend the drone's range.

@George-K said in Trillons: Moving is one thing. Producing it is another. Being good at moving something opens up new efficiencies that allow you to produce less of that something in the aggregate while still meeting the same overall demand. When you are bad at moving something, you have to have excess capacities at each pocket of production and consumption to ensure high probability of meeting peak demands in each locality. But when you are good at moving something, you can reduce the overall excess capacity because when one locality that is experiencing demand in excess of its own production capacity can better source from another locality that still has spare capacity after meeting its local demand.

I watched! On DVR delay. JMU was significantly more aggressive and scrappy early on which forced turnovers and let to an early 15 point lead (18–5 at one point, later 30-16?) which they held until the buzzer. Looks like Wisconsin got caught on their heels and also were over ranked at 5. Now let’s watch the JMU Dukes take on Duke. Fun times. Btw my wife went to Wisconsin so I have some smack talk points!
