We must punish dads who take care of their children. This will make all children equal.

We all have skin in the game when it comes to a society deciding what is and is not necessary to begin an economically viable adult life. It's an important question and not a strictly personal preference one, whether that stuff has value for your typical 18-20 year old.

I use normal noodles but don't pre-boil them either. Just add a little more water to the sauce and put it in the oven a little longer.

@LuFins-Dad said in We really do not have to worry about Antifa.: Seriously...What’s the endgame? Is anybody out there saying “You know, I was really thinking about voting for Trump, but after seeing these young men and women burn down our cities, steal from our businesses, and maim and injure people, I can’t help but reconsider my position.” Maybe they are thinking, "Vote for Biden or get 4 more years of this".

@xenon said in Rahm: “Didn’t Get Your Medicine, Your Social Security Check?” It's Trump's fault!: @Larry In your opinion, are subsidy takers poor operators? You added that question after I had answered your original question. No. I do not judge how other people choose to operate their business. If they think they need to take subsidies, that's fine. It's there, it's legal, it's purely a business decision, not a moral issue to wrangle with. I just happen to be one of those people who doesnt want the government up in my business.

@taiwan_girl said in The Worst Attraction in Every State: @LuFins-Dad @brenda How come the map shows it in Kansas? War of the Big Balls of Twine? LOL Yes, it's a battle for bragging rights, and the one who lives longer gets to make their twine ball the biggest. I think the guy in Minnesoooooota died, so the honor probably has gone to Kansas now. Yay for them.

@Jolly said in Benefits of exercise better than we thought: @Copper said in Benefits of exercise better than we thought: Yes, I am in good shape for 65. That is definitely due to 20 years on the treadmill every day. That was a great investment. I don't see how you can do it everyday and keep it fresh... Netflix, Amazon, DVDs It gets to be like brushing your teeth, every morning and night When I worked at Fenway Park, as a vendor, the sign on the locker room wall said "Selling is like shaving, you do it every day or you're a bum"

Another article on the Obama/Biden handling of H1N1. It reiterates a lot of what Strassel says, and adds more. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/04/joe-biden-contain-h1n1-virus-232992 “I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places right now," Biden said. "It’s not that it’s going to Mexico, it’s that you are in a confined aircraft. When one person sneezes, it goes everywhere through the aircraft.” Airlines angrily accused Biden of fearmongering. Media reports noted that Biden’s pessimism contrasted sharply with the reassurances President Barack Obama had given a day earlier, when he said there was no need to panic even as he declared a national health emergency. In a matter of hours, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Deputy Secretary of State Jack Lew were summoned to the White House and assigned to clean up the mess Biden made: “Nip it in the bud,” LaHood said, recalling their instructions. By 4 p.m., the three officials were hosting a news conference and backing away from the vice president’s words. The snafu was the first of many scrambles and setbacks by the Obama administration in its initial response to the swine flu. POLITICO interviewed almost two dozen people, including administration officials, members of Congress and outsiders who contended with the administration’s response, and they described a litany of sadly familiar obstacles: vaccine shortfalls, fights over funding and sometimes contradictory messaging.
