Can't make a good crust on cornbread without it. Some folks grease their biscuit skillets with it. Green beans require it.

@QuantumIvory Exact same thing happened to my aunt, after she got on some flights from FL to MA in early March.

Holy cow! You remember the frogs, too?!

Time? Well, I've been under the weather much of the time since late February, so that has kept my butt at home quite a bit. I also work from home. Gives me more time to pester folks here.

It's also still late winter here in Minnesnowta. We're getting another 5 or 6 inches of snow. Oh yeah, snow on Easter is a thing here. Once we get a real spring, I hope to be out digging in the yard.

    I hope you'll miss me. šŸ˜„

Don't worry. There will be froggo pics. šŸ˜

I do not believe Cuomo is likeable enough to be elected president. He'll just get down in the mud with Trump and you won't be able to tell the difference. NY was the epicenter of covid, so he won't have any standing as a hero like DeWine would.

The best we can hope for is to mitigate the death toll so much that Dunning-Krueger dipshit naysayers will claim they were right all along about it being no big deal.

Has she disappeared or been incarcerated? The journalist spoke to her during his incarceration, but it didn't clarify her situation.

Yes, I noted this in one of the earlier articles you posted, and that article made me wonder how many COVID deaths were not reported when the death was at home. It's hard to track, but this gives at least something to work from for info. I'm not surprised that another aricle gives it more direct attention.

The same thing happened in Italy, so it's not a surprise to see it here, too.

    Hi All,
It was an interest in playing the piano that led me to this forum by way of PianoWorld many years ago. I think my username there was Opus45, but I often used my first name whenever I posted (mostly on the Adult beginners forum). I still enjoy playing the piano, or more accurately a Yamaha keyboard. I donated a very nice Kawai UST-7 before a recent move to a small town near Asheville, North Carolina (been in downsizing mode for about 5 years).

With some good fortune and being generally frugal I was able to and made a decision to retire a bit early last year (I'll soon be 60 years). I may end up doing some volunteer work at some point, but my plan right now is to take some time and travel around the U.S. (RV) and spend a lot of time outdoors when it's safe to do so again. This will be a huge change from being chained to a desk staring into computer monitors 8 hours a day every day for years on end.

I've lurked here for quite a long time and enjoy reading interesting opinions regarding current events and other various topics that come up from time to time. Several years ago someone asked me where I get my news and I told them I often start here.

    @Klaus said in IFR 0.4% ?:

Why should the IFR depend on hugging or kissing or anything like that?

These things influence transmission, but I don't see why they should influence fatality.

I think there are various potential factors. Nobody knows, I guess, the importance of these factors:

maybe the way the data was collected was wrong - there are doubts about how representative they are a somewhat decent health system with well-educated doctors and enough ICU places might be a factor some people claim that we test more and earlier than others; also, people aren't concerned about costs and will go to the doctor early. Together, this might contribute to often catching the disease in its early form when there are more medical options probably a dozen more potential factors

Note that he didn't question the beer connection at all. He must agree.

Indeed it is. His family must be so relieved.

Politically, there might be some quiet disappointment, but it shall be very quiet.
