    Just something to chew on...Several months back, COVID tests were of the PCR type and pretty hard to access. Today, rapid tests are ubiquitous and other testing types are more available.

    That means that there are more tests being done. For example, anybody admitted to the hospital gets a COVID test. A lot of patients who present with with any of the COVID symptoms, will be tested. Even many of the doc-in-a-box shops now test.

    So...Are all these tests being reported? And what does this do to the stats?

      I think you are right and the reporting of cases has always been suspect to me, but rapid changes in patterns should be viewed as legit.

      Hospitalizations is a good metric and deaths should be going down with high vaccination rates. Deaths and hospitalizations in states with low vaccination rates seem like a reliable stat too.
