Oh yeah, entering through unguarded and unlocked doors looks exactly like "storming".

Standing in front of gates versus hacking at doors, tearing down barriers and breaking windows to gain entrance does seem a little different. entering Capitol

That should be so self evident but you got a ton of people who are constantly asking us to ignore reality.

Why is it "self evident" what exactly the idiotic mob did? It's not "self evident", only evident by evidence. I admit that that footage Kluurs shared looks more like storming than I had in mind.

Presumably, the baby-eating cabal funded by George Soros has doctored all the photos.

There's no shortage of histrionic rhetoric around the Jan 6 Capitol invasion that purports to be self-evident, but is only TDS service or more basic anti-Republican service. My bad for objecting to "storming", which is a fair word. The idiotic mob stormed the unlocked and nearly unguarded Capitol, and it dealt a severe blow to any political objective they may ever have had.

The fact that the inept, incompetent, and frankly quite bizarre group of people who gathered under Trump's banner were such a useless bunch of morons, shouldn't detract from what, in their clearly quite delusional way, they were trying to achieve.

What do you suppose they were trying to achieve? I suppose their goals were as clear as a child throwing a temper tantrum.

So we’re going to, we’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue, I love Pennsylvania Avenue, and we’re going to the Capitol and we’re going to try and give… The Democrats are hopeless. They’re never voting for anything, not even one vote. But we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones, because the strong ones don’t need any of our help, we’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.

Because if an election's unfair, obviously the most natural thing to do is to go to the Capitol to provide pride and boldness.

                Please love yourself.

                      what was his goal?

Yeah I'd be interested in hearing this, too.

He can't accept losing and was whining about how unfair it was, to sympathetic ears. Creating his own social bubble in which he didn't really lose.

His rhetoric certainly contributed to the reckless idiots who stormed the Capitol. I don't think anybody is denying that.

Pretty sure I read opposition to that here somewhere. 89th was raked over the coals for suggesting it.

What, that the mob believed Trump's claims that the election was stolen? People are denying that?

No, they're disputing the fact that Trump's claims contributed to starting the riot.

That's just mincing words. Obviously the emotion of the mob was about election theft, an idea propagated mostly by Trump.

I'm pretty sure that Trump denies any responsibility for what happened, so therefore so do his most avid supporters.

Also, Kevin McCarthy says Trump didn't provoke them. If I could be bothered, I'm sure we'd find a lot more examples.

That's all a war of rhetoric, where one chooses which words to mince or not. The mob believed a thing that Trump said (and said, and said), got emotional about it, and did something incredibly stupid, illegal, self-defeating, and absurdly easy.

It's obvious to you and me. Not everybody agrees.

Then again, Jewish space lasers. Some pretty loose wigs out there.

It's not clear to me who would deny that "the emotion of the mob was about election theft, an idea propagated mostly by Trump".

I'm pretty sure that Trump denies any responsibility for what happened, so therefore so do his most avid supporters.

Sure, and anybody who believes and propagates the fictitious BLM narrative that incited violent mobs to take over neighborhoods, should take some responsibility for that, too.

                                          Education is extremely important.
