It's not clear to me who would deny that "the emotion of the mob was about election theft, an idea propagated mostly by Trump".
I'm pretty sure that Trump denies any responsibility for what happened, so therefore so do his most avid supporters.
Also, Kevin McCarthy says Trump didn't provoke them. If I could be bothered, I'm sure we'd find a lot more examples.
That's all a war of rhetoric, where one chooses which words to mince or not. The mob believed a thing that Trump said (and said, and said), got emotional about it, and did something incredibly stupid, illegal, self-defeating, and absurdly easy.
So, weasel words. Clearly Trump should take some responsibility for what happened. That should be obvious to anybody.
Sure, and anybody who believes and propagates the fictitious BLM narrative that incited violent mobs to take over neighborhoods, should take some responsibility for that, too.
Education is extremely important.
