wastespend anafternoonweek.I probably find the series more interesting since I read the novel. I’m on episode 7 and would rate it a 7 On a 10 scale. The premise is a man, upstanding citizen, family man, little league coach, arrested for brutal slaying of little boy. And I mean brutal. His dna is all over the scene along with eye witnesses to his coming and goings at the time of the murder but the fact is that he was out of town at a conference at the time of the murder. Complete with video evidence that he was away. It’s a doppelgänger type of movie.

Yes. Read mr Mercedes and the others. My biggest gripe in this series is who they get to play holly. Not even close to who I visualized.

wastedspent an hour this afternoon watching the first two episodes of Netflix's "Space Force." It's a "comedy" about the new commander of the newly-established "Space Force."It was mildly funny, in a "Avenue 5" kind of way. Steve Carrell, whom I like as an actor, tends to overdo it (is this what he did in "The Office?") and John Malkovich does his best John Malkovich impression.
It was poignant seeing Fred Willard as Carrell's dad.
But...two episodes are enough for me to decide not to explore it any more. Taking it off my "watch list."

Some really funny moments immediately followed by something really dumb. Disorienting. One of my tests of bad film is meandering tone.

Never saw "Needful Things." How was it?
I'm currently binging through Better Call Saul - 5th season. Seems like (so far) a stronger season, laying a lot of the groundwork we would see in Breaking Bad (Crazy Eight! w00t!).

I miss those days. My daughter just re-watched the entire Avatar the Last Airbender series, and I secretly loved it. Now she's watching it again, but I think I'm spent.

A much, much, stronger season than the last few. We finally see the beginning of
Jimmy'sSaul's descent into being a henchman for Gus. Mike's behaviors begin to make sense.Good stuff.
Considering what we know comes later, the whole "Kim Wexler" plot, though interesting and fun, seems like a bit of a sideshow. Though she is positioned as (I hate this term) Saul's moral compass, I think the story could have been told without her.
I'm really curious to see what happens as
JimmySaul ends up as the manager of Cinnabon. -
