Mr. Sunshine is about a young boy born into a house servant's family. He is orphaned during the 1871 Shinmiyangyo (U.S. expedition to Korea) and adopted by a US missionary and grows up in the US.
He returns to his homeland about 30 years later later as a U.S. marine officer. He meets and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter. At the same time, he discovers a plot by foreign forces (Japan) to colonize Korea. Very good but very sad.

@Mik I had nothing to do today, so I binged. Of course at 1.25 speed.
Waste of an afternoon, IMO. The only thing I really enjoyed was Tucci's performance.
ETA: And...it gets darker, and less funny. I'm OK with dark (Ozark, anyone?). But at least make it plausible. I never, for a second, bought the vicar's motivation, and that's what drives the entire plot.

Is anybody watching 1899? I’ve been binging it - you have to go in and change the settings to original English - there are several languages they speak (and do subtitles for) - for some reason the dubbed English version is the default (and it doesn’t make sense when it’s all in English). It’s by the makers of “Dark”.

@Mik I have yet to watch a single episode of Yellowstone! I will probably start paying for Paramount + on December 18th…
Is it great television?
Nope.
Is it a fancy soap opera?
Yup.
Is it full of cowboy/horse porn?
Yup.
Is it fun?
Oh yeah.
As I've said, it's a guilty pleasure, like "Dallas" was in the early 1980s - but the people in Dallas were nicer.

It’s not on Paramount+, just the cable Paramount Network and also on CMT. Not sure where you can watch the first four seasons.
