Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes
A short, cute, entertaining movie about a guy whose TV sees 2 minutes into the future.
MUCH better than Samaritan.

@George-K said in What are you watching now?:
"City of New Orleans."
One of my all-time tip-top favorite songs. The swelling soul of it makes you want to stand on a mountaintop with your arms outstretched and your heart almost too full to bear.
"Good morning America how are you?
Say, don't you know me? I'm your native son." -

There are so many versions of this song, with Arlo Guthie's version being the hit that made it popular.
Willie Nelson's version is credible, but I never warmed to Johnny Cash's rendition.
To my mind, the definitive version is sung by the composer, Steve Goodman (a Chicago icon who passed away in his 30s of leukemia).
Link to videoA slightly different version.

New show on Netflix - Inside Man. Great premise, dark and sometimes hilarious.

Mr. Sunshine is about a young boy born into a house servant's family. He is orphaned during the 1871 Shinmiyangyo (U.S. expedition to Korea) and adopted by a US missionary and grows up in the US.
He returns to his homeland about 30 years later later as a U.S. marine officer. He meets and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter. At the same time, he discovers a plot by foreign forces (Japan) to colonize Korea. Very good but very sad.

Just watched the 1st episode. Tucci is brilliant (as usual).
But "dark?" Now there's an understatement.

I had trouble getting through the first episode with the Vicar's unbelievable decisions. But it's only four episodes. We'll see where it goes. I need something to watch on the treadmill.

Willing suspension of disbelief. Just finished E2 while pedaling. If you thought E1 was dark..
So layered.

Waste of an afternoon, IMO. The only thing I really enjoyed was Tucci's performance.
ETA: And...it gets darker, and less funny. I'm OK with dark (Ozark, anyone?). But at least make it plausible. I never, for a second, bought the vicar's motivation, and that's what drives the entire plot.

I was ok with the vicar for the most part. But the story got overly drawn out. Not really interested in a second season.

Peripheral on Amazon Prime. I get confused, though - new episode out every friday and sometimes I have to rewatch parts of the one before to figure out what is going on. (Would be better to binge it, I think.)

Is anybody watching 1899? I’ve been binging it - you have to go in and change the settings to original English - there are several languages they speak (and do subtitles for) - for some reason the dubbed English version is the default (and it doesn’t make sense when it’s all in English). It’s by the makers of “Dark”.

It's gotten good press, I gather. I tried to watch "Dark," but lost interest. Not that it was bad, just not my cuppa.

Yellowstone, Tulsa King, 1923 when it comes out (we get to look for Jodi!).
Lufin says I should watch Spirited.
