Multiple episodes of 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown, and 8 out of 10 cats.

I think it's fair to say that they're a bit closer to the edge than most American games show.

They have had me crying with laughter on more than one occasion.

    I was only joking

We're watching something called Fringe - and while the Mrs likes it, I'm not as enamored. FBI agent investigating odd happenings - perhaps a bit like X-Files. Was on for 5 years - J J Abrams developed.

@kluurs I really tried to like Fringe. Just couldn't get into it.

Fringe takes too many liberties with reality. The main biochemist scientist is unlikeable. Being married to a biochemist, I think that's why I'll be forced to watch the rest of the series. 😉

Finishing up "Bosch" season 6 on Amazon Prime. Hope to finish it tomorrow.

Complex, interesting, and very well directed. Some irrelevant fluff, but not too much. Interesting and complex characters.

I love how there are multiple storylines that occur simultaneously, and over more than one season.

Also watching the latest season of Bosch. Enjoying that.

Catching up on another car show called Graveyard Cars. It focuses on restorations back to original factory specs and equipment. Mopars FTW! Those are my favorites. Recently did a 1967 GTX. It was a convertible, unlike my dad's. The lines of the car, and the dashboard, really were fun to see. I learned to drive with that car of dad's. Loved that 440. ❤

I watched Creed 2 yesterday. I think Jolly recommended it a while ago. Good fun.

Also watched Rambo Last Blood a couple daysago. Also good fun. Neither movie so much as attempted to be more than it knew its audience wanted. I appreciated that.

Also watched "47 meters down: uncaged". An unremarkable shark horror movie which randomly had Sylvester Stallone's daughter in it. I did not plan for so much Stallone in one weekend, but sometimes he is apparently difficult to avoid.

Also watched Clint Eastwood's "The Mule", speaking of aging action stars. It was pretty good.

                  Education is extremely important.

What I like is how the show has many plot lines that are concurrent (the search for Wise's murderers, Irving's run for mayor, etc) and how they all intersect. I particularly enjoyed the Elizabeth Clayton arc, with her fall, and rise, and fall with drugs and alcohol. When her daughter's killer is found, she's disappointed in how she feels. My God, not relieved, she's disappointed in her own reaction. Very dense storytelling.

I read that Season 7 will be the last season.

Just finished the final episode. Just great. Satisfying, if not pleasing, wrap-up to so many threads, especially the Liz/Daisy story.

Now, I have to wait another year?

Having finished Bosch, I was looking for something that's a bit lighter. Amazon Prime has a new movie called "Blow The Man Down." It stars the wonderful Margot Martindale (The Americans and Justified).

Basic premise: Two sisters who are mourning the death of their mother in a small fishing town in Maine come to discover that there are very, very, dark aspects to living in a small, close-knit, community. There are dark connections, murders, conspiracies, etc.

                            Sounds intriguing.

Don't waste your time. 2 out of 5 stars.

                                Season 1?

It gets better, a LOT better. Probably one of the best cop shows ever. I'm tempted to watch all six seasons as a mega-binge.

I read the first Michael Connalley book and enjoyed it.

The Amazon version seems to conflate several books into one season, but it does it very well.

Having forgotten what the last season was all about, I binged through Homeland (season 7) this weekend. It's available on HULU. I hated how it ended on a cliffhanger, but the story was tight and well-told.

Starting season 8 now. It picks up exactly where 7 left off, and reintroduces some storylines from years past. This is the last season, and I hope they wrap up a lot of threads.

My biggest criticism of the series is the inclusion of Carrie Mathison's mental illness as a recurring storyline. There's no way, IMO, that CIA would allow such a flawed character continue to work.

                                    Oh...yes.

I still have two episodes to go, but this has been an exceptionally strong season. As I said, it picks up where season 7 left off in terms of storyline, and jettisons all the extraneous stuff that 7 had (the mental illness, the daughter, etc) and just gets back to good old spy storytelling.

There's no question that Claire Dane's character is flawed, and probably would never work in CIA with these flaws, but it's a hell of a good spy story.

I have 2 episodes to go, and looking forward to the denouement of the 8-season story.

                                    Well done, indeed!

Just teeing up episode 3 of Bosch. Totally engrossed. Thank you all for the tip.

                                      Season 1?

It gets better, a LOT better. Probably one of the best cop shows ever. I'm tempted to watch all six seasons as a mega-binge.

I read the first Michael Connalley book and enjoyed it.

The Amazon version seems to conflate several books into one season, but it does it very well.

Mid way through season 3 and still look forward to it. Not that it’s superb acting, just plain old entertaining and engaging.

There's something to be said for popcorn. Danes overdoes it, IMO, but the storyline is interesting.

It sorta falls off the rails in Season 3-4, but in 6-8, it really picks up again.

As far as spy stories go, it's good, but not as good as "Berlin Station," which I will miss.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Grace and Frankie. Hilarious, brilliantly written and acted and not as dark as so much of what is out there.
