@nobodyssock I was thinking about that.

    What's the premise?

Like all of his movies, they don’t capture the eeriness or do good justice to the novels

You're right, most all of King's books fail when transferred to video/movie ("Salem's Lot," "The Shining").

At 10 episodes, it might be a nice way to waste spend an afternoon week.

@George-K: I agree -- though I admired Max von Sydow in the movie Needfull Things, especially him sitting in his easy chair, giggling with satisfaction (and those gnarly fingernails!) over how well his evil plan is unfolding.

    I love Max von Sydow.

I think tonight I'll watch an episode or two of the sitcom, Hogan's Heroes.

Never saw "Needful Things." How was it?

I'm currently binging through Better Call Saul - 5th season. Seems like (so far) a stronger season, laying a lot of the groundwork we would see in Breaking Bad (Crazy Eight! w00t!).

I miss those days. My daughter just re-watched the entire Avatar the Last Airbender series, and I secretly loved it. Now she's watching it again, but I think I'm spent.

            I was only joking

A much, much, stronger season than the last few. We finally see the beginning of Jimmy's Saul's descent into being a henchman for Gus. Mike's behaviors begin to make sense.

                    Good stuff.

Considering what we know comes later, the whole "Kim Wexler" plot, though interesting and fun, seems like a bit of a sideshow. Though she is positioned as (I hate this term) Saul's moral compass, I think the story could have been told without her.

I'm really curious to see what happens as Jimmy Saul ends up as the manager of Cinnabon.

Oh, I'd Jon would hit her.

It's a good side story, but in the larger "Breaking Bad" universe, she's irrelevant.

I think her role is to let us believe Saul won’t sink into the abyss, that somehow she knows something we don’t. But basically it’s a story of codependency.

Good point. Toward the end of the season (I still haven't finished) he tells her that he wants to be a "friend of the cartel."

                                    She accepts that.

Probably the strongest season of the series. Jimmy's descent into Saul Goodman is fraught with conflict. Kim's descent into a possibly similar evil seems inevitable, and not conflicted at all.

I'm hoping for a good resolution to the tale in the next (and final) season.

                                    Very well done.

The Stranger on Netflix. English detective show, I think. One episode in. Curious enough for a second.

                                      Yeah...3 episodes in.

I have no idea where it's going. So many balls in the air.

                                      But it's VERY intriguing.

Premise: A mysterious woman approaches several people telling them about suspicious, perhaps illegal, or embarrassing activities of their loved ones. We don't know her motives, or how these people are connected.

                                      Very intriguing.

The Gentlemen is a very fun movie to watch. It has flaws but it’s not an issue. Dark comedy, amazing line up of actors and some fantastic moments. Guy Ritchie directs and demonstrates his prowess in spots. If you have not watched his movies there are several choice ones to pick from.

                                          Stick with it.

Very complicated, though not obscure. Lots of twists with a depressing, but ultimately satisfying conclusion.

                                          Another weekend wasted, LOL.
