Yes. Read mr Mercedes and the others. My biggest gripe in this series is who they get to play holly. Not even close to who I visualized.

      Uh oh.

Ah well. I'll still check it out.

      Please love yourself.

I wasted spent an hour this afternoon watching the first two episodes of Netflix's "Space Force." It's a "comedy" about the new commander of the newly-established "Space Force."

It was mildly funny, in a "Avenue 5" kind of way. Steve Carrell, whom I like as an actor, tends to overdo it (is this what he did in "The Office?") and John Malkovich does his best John Malkovich impression.

It was poignant seeing Fred Willard as Carrell's dad.

But...two episodes are enough for me to decide not to explore it any more. Taking it off my "watch list."

Wise choice. The first two episodes were the best. I really wanted it to turn the corner, and it did, just in the wrong direction. I am at 4 and that’s enough thank you.

@Loki they didn't seem to understand the difference between "Funny" and "Stupid."

Some really funny moments immediately followed by something really dumb. Disorienting. One of my tests of bad film is meandering tone.

One day about a week ago, I watched Kelly's Heroes and My Cousin Vinny on the same day, even though I've seen both movies a hundred times.

@nobodyssock I was thinking about that.

                What's the premise?

Like all of his movies, they don’t capture the eeriness or do good justice to the novels

You're right, most all of King's books fail when transferred to video/movie ("Salem's Lot," "The Shining").

At 10 episodes, it might be a nice way to waste spend an afternoon week.

@George-K: I agree -- though I admired Max von Sydow in the movie Needfull Things, especially him sitting in his easy chair, giggling with satisfaction (and those gnarly fingernails!) over how well his evil plan is unfolding.

I think tonight I'll watch an episode or two of the sitcom, Hogan's Heroes.

I miss those days. My daughter just re-watched the entire Avatar the Last Airbender series, and I secretly loved it. Now she's watching it again, but I think I'm spent.

                        I was only joking

A much, much, stronger season than the last few. We finally see the beginning of Jimmy's Saul's descent into being a henchman for Gus. Mike's behaviors begin to make sense.

                                Good stuff.

Considering what we know comes later, the whole "Kim Wexler" plot, though interesting and fun, seems like a bit of a sideshow. Though she is positioned as (I hate this term) Saul's moral compass, I think the story could have been told without her.

I'm really curious to see what happens as Jimmy Saul ends up as the manager of Cinnabon.

Oh, I'd Jon would hit her.

It's a good side story, but in the larger "Breaking Bad" universe, she's irrelevant.

Considering what we know comes later, the whole "Kim Wexler" plot, though interesting and fun, seems like a bit of a sideshow. Though she is positioned as (I hate this term) Saul's moral compass, I think the story could have been told without her.

I guess she’s not on George’s hit parade.

Oh, I'd Jon would hit her.

It's a good side story, but in the larger "Breaking Bad" universe, she's irrelevant.

I think her role is to let us believe Saul won’t sink into the abyss, that somehow she knows something we don’t. But basically it’s a story of codependency.

Good point. Toward the end of the season (I still haven't finished) he tells her that he wants to be a "friend of the cartel."

                                        She accepts that.

The Stranger on Netflix. English detective show, I think. One episode in. Curious enough for a second.
