    Riffing off of Cat's a/c comment...

    I remember going to elementary school without the benefit of air conditioning. Every classroom had a big black ceiling fan and the key was to get close enough under the fan to catch an occasional breeze, but not close enough that the fan blew your papers everywhere.

    Oh well, at least we had steam heat in the winter. My dad went to the same school and the boys in each class took turns hauling wood and feeding the wood heater in each classroom...

      Interesting article about productivity and heat. I don’t think it’s too far a stretch to apply to learning.

      Note one conclusion 3% drop in productivity for each degree above a certain temperature.
