Wiki: "In the 19th century and up to World War I, the Ottoman Empire cleared the land of Israel of its natural reserves of pine and oak trees, in order to build railways across the empire. Since it was founded the JNF (Jewish National Fund) has planted in Israel more than 185 million trees creating 280 forests, and still operates today."

About the theme from Jaws. "Rarely have six basses, eight celli, four trombones and a tuba held more power over listeners. Especially in a movie theater."

Many things there that are very impressive! But it also looks like the final product leaves a great vulnerability totally exposed: what if tiny rocks and gravels get inside and are lodged or trapped inside the mid sole? This engineering marvel is like the Death Star full of exhaust ports.

@bachophile I captured a multiple transit on Jupiter a few years ago.

                                  Link to video

Yes, the resolution is not great but there are 4 "solar eclipses" on the planet at one time during the video sequence.

@kluurs But that is not the general Robert E Lee, correct? Is that his son? Seems like pictures were not around when General Lee was that age.

That’s not at all unusual for the time. It was actually common practice among higher ranked families in Europe and the US for boys to wear dressing gowns until they were 6-8 years old. The whole thing was called breeching, when the boy would graduate to pants.
