Once they get started, he anticipates the restoration will only take 18 to 24 months this time, with another post-restoration debut of the streamliner at Amelia Island."Wonder if he ever got it finished?

I have had leather half-soles replaced on a pair of Florsheim Imperial wingtips. Probably at least a few times, I remember it being a reasonable price.
Of course this is 40 or more years ago. I don't think this kind of cobbler's shop exists much anymore.

That's interesting. Reminds me of the pictures of people with two sets of eyes, and how profoundly disorienting it is to look at. It's all because we have so much software to interpret faces. It's a complex and huge bit of code, and it's relatively easy to make it crash.

I had shoes resoled too, also 30 years ago or so, but I doubt it was as much work as was put into those boots.
