Operation Frantic

I have long held that it is inaccurate to consider or include the USSR as an ally of the US, British Commonwealth forces during the war. Rather they ought to be described as co-belligerents with Allied powers in fighting against a common enemy, Nazi Germany and the Axis powers. It was only on rare occasions that any attempts at coordination of forces in the two theaters ever occurred.

What a cluster. A great idea crushed by a feckless 'ally'.
But when you look at the sheer number of aircraft the US was able to supply you get a little better view of how US manufacturing contributed to victory.
