File all this under fringe and not serious.
That's kind of what they said about the QAnon folks,
Dude, that’s what we said about Trump back when he was pushing birther stuff.
I remember a discussion I had with an Irish relative, a really smart guy, back in 2015. I'd expressed some minor concerns about Trump, and he just laughed and laughed, and said America's always had these joke candidates and I shouldn't worry.

And that’s another thing that was so wrong with Jan 6, everyone is aware what these so called “patriots” are capable of. Storming their own highest symbol of democracy.
Don't be so melodramatic. The doors were unlocked and they were a mob in a partying mood.

That's kind of what they said about the QAnon folks, and then somehow they managed to get into the Capitol building.
Yeah, yeah, I know, no harm done and all that. Still....
Yeah it should be monitored because of January 6. My point was it’s not real news and has little value except I wasn’t thinking about Jan 6 in the moment. And that’s another thing that was so wrong with Jan 6, everyone is aware what these so called “patriots” are capable of. Storming their own highest symbol of democracy.
If they had wanted to, there could have been a pitched gun battle and they probably could have burned the whole damn place to the ground.
They didn't.
I suspect they are a lot more worried about due process, fairness, equal treatment under the law, one man-one vote and the Deep State much more than you will ever be,

I get that. But I can’t explain it away to myself, so you have to ask yourself if the people who really decide elections….that 5 to 10% that can go either way, buy your narrative or not.

I know it was a huge own-goal, and it will be mined for rhetoric by the left (i.e. the media) for the foreseeable future. TDS sufferers absolutely love that it happened.
Since the right doesn't have effective media outlets nor cultural indoctrination through all of pop culture and public education, we hear nothing about the Floyd riots, or CHAZ, or the constant threat of more of same that our society lives with, if we don't toe the line come verdict or election times.

I know this is a tired old thing to point out, but you've got Fox News, which is an absolutely massive Murdoch-owned conservative mass-media cable TV outlet.
Jolly's been pointing out how it's much more popular than CNN and MSNBC for years.

One vs several, it is not surprising it is leading, but that is a case of a majority minority.
And when it comes to cultural indoctrination by other means (education and entertainment), the right is not even in the discussion.

There are plenty of right wing outlets, but as far as I can tell they all pretty much preach to the choir. Normal people don't go there. At least I sure as hell don't, and I'm way fucking normal.

He was railroaded and crucified for nothing.
Pardon me if I cut him some slack...
Why? He embarrassed the Vice President and was accordingly thrown under the bus. Besides, he has demonstrated on more than one occasion since his pardon that he is in fact, a kook.

And it is. But it can't beat all of cable AND NBC, CBS, ABC television news AND NBC, CBS and ABC radio, AND the NYT, WaPo and a slew of other repeating megaphones.

IIRC a chick ate lead for being on the front end of a mob breaking down a door.
Yes she was a particularly crazy individual in the mob, and she paid the price.

Remind me of how many Capitol Police officers were injured in this attack.
And then reflect on how many Secret Service officers were injured, a year ago, outside the White House. where a church was set on fire. You want "insurrection?" That's where you should look.

She would probably have been ripe for the short-bus defense, had she survived.

If they cared about any of that, they cared about them in the wrong way, The Jan.6 mob tried to invalidate the results of more than 150 million votes.
Worried about due process? Go protest against excessive use of force by and the militarization of the police.
Worried about fairness? Go protest against dark money in politics and the Citizens United decision.
Worried about equal treatment under the law? Go protest against profiling and discrimination by race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
Worried about one man-one vote? Go protest against gerrymandering.
Worried about “Deep State”? The last thing you should be doing is to encourage those who are already wield the state instrument to overturn the will of the people.
Nay, the Jan.6 mob was no defender of high principles, they were a violent cult of personality.

How many people were at the rally and what fraction participated in the shennanigans at the Capitol?
It may come as a shock to you, but a majority of the 75M who voted for Trump, believe something very fishy happened during our last election. The Democrat fight to keep anybody from witnessing the vote counts in some states, the fight against forensic examination of the election and the pitched battle against any type of ballot security going forward, reinforces the conviction of many that some entity is trying to cover up something about the election process like a cat covers up shit.
For somebody that constantly harps on transparency and sunshine in government, I think you would be among the first demanding fairness, transparency, ethics and accountability in the election process. One man, one legal vote, counted properly.
But Trump.

She just wanted to be the first for a selfie with a genuine Secret Service agent. No pretense beyond that.
Which reminds me, wasn't this thread initially about that embarrassment, Flynn?

Really sad that GOP couldn’t prove what you wrote. Also too bad Trump burned his credibility saying Obama was born in Kenya. You can’t undo that.

Hey, never say never. They're still working on it!
