Are modern women too picky?

I'm pretty sure a deal-breaker for me would be that she responded to that survey.
As Jon would say, selection bias run amok.
@doctor-phibes
Yes to the selection bias. Remember, this person is selling a book. The author needed a story to tell. -
For the single people she talks about and their expectations, I wonder how things change as a person ages.

3 vs. 300. Sounds about right.
And we all know the guys were lying about how fussy they are.

Absolutely.
I would also bet she surveyed only a few men, the rest were busy looking for the wimminz. -
@rainman
Regarding aging ...
There's a song about that concept, it's slightly different, but it's basically the same idea.
'The Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time' -
All of this type of survey can basically be filed under the title 'I don't know, young people today...'
And I generally don't believe them.
-
They know how wealthy we are. Some of us even brag about our wealth, which I find to be in extremely poor taste.

"Ever go to bed with an ugly girl?"
"Nope, but I've woken up with a bunch of 'em."

If your standards are too high, lower them.

I'm not at all picky. (See Jon's observation, above.) As long as he's extremely rich, handsomer than Hugh Jackman, smarter than a St. Bernard, and willing to leave me with a black Amex card while he's off pursuing his quest for the perfect mistress, preferably in foreign countries, I'm satisfied. That's all I need.
Are there opportunities to simplify? If heβs going to be off pursuing the perfect mistress somewhere else and wonβt be around you, do you even need to care whether he is handsome? Heck, as long heβs away from you, do you even need to care where he is or what heβs pursuing? Really, would just the black Amex card and basically leaving you alone suffice?

I've been married to the same fella for 36 years. If he's not Mr. Right by now, then I haven't done my job of molding him to suit me.
It's sort of like that line about teaching a man to fish, and he'll be able to eat for a lifetime.
If you teach a husband how to behave, then he'll be a good husband for a lifetime.Go ahead and prove me wrong.
Yeah, but most young women are not as smart or wise as you are...
Let's see ... there's Mrs. Jolly, Mrs. George, Mrs. Mik, Rachel, M&Ms, Mrs. Mark, Mrs, Rainman ... I could go on for quite a while listing examples of smart and wise wives of y'all.

And all are excellent representation of not being too picky. In fact...
