Fauci has said many times the protocols would be changing quickly and indeed they are.

I guess if you are unvaccinated now you best hope you are always in the herd.

It sounds like in most scenarios we are open for business and pleasure and there is no going back. Mission Accomplished.

@loki said in CDC says no more masks needed for the vaccinated:

    Mission Accomplished.

Until it mutates. Which is inevitable.

That would be a significant detour, but it's pretty obvious that we're getting a handle on this and it's very likely it'll become manageable, especially after the Pfizer pill.

    Please love yourself.

      Fait accompli.

Most people (90%) down here have ditched the masks. People have pretty much told the CDC to shove it, so who (rhetorical who) cares what they say?

Mutations and immunity will be interesting.

I guess I'm one of the few that enjoy wearing the mask.
It's great to hide behind. Don't need to shave, don't care if I look like a homeless person, don't need to worry about anyone recognizing me. It's the next best thing to being "The Invisible Man."

What percentage of the unvaccinated will go maskless?

                Roughly 100

                They will eventually self-vaccinate

The problem is that it's the "ear loop" masks. I never wore those at work, and as a matter of fact, they were not available. Everyone wore the "tie up" masks. Much more comfortable, and you could pull them up and down as the situation demanded. Even during a long, long case, I was never uncomfortable with one of these.

Even at 3 am, I was not uncomfortable...

I've got 'em, but they aren't as easy to constantly take off and put on, without looking like a refugee from the Woody Woodpecker School of Barbering.

I am NOT going to miss them. But I am grateful that 99.6% of folks here wore them in public. Midwestern folk are pretty sensible. Except the wackos who thought it was tyranny.

Have to point out that the same CDC director was talking about her sense of impending doom a month or two ago. Have seen her since looking like a deer in the headlights. I have no confidence in her utterances.

The average person down here has been told so many things by the CDC during this pandemic that weren't entirely correct, that they have very little confidence in anything they now say...
