If it is on the internets, it has to be true!!!!
Here, keep laughing...

We all know that creating viruses in labs has always been a thing right?
Going after Fauci as some sort of bad guy is laughable if that is one of the points.
Of all the people on the planet , he has consistently been the best even if you could prove he is only a .300 hitter.

We, the U.S. taxpayer, put money into the Wuhan lab. Period.
Gain of Function research was going on in the Wuhan lab. Period.

I can't really see why anybody would go after Fauci like this, unless it's because he occasionally made Donald Trump look like a bit of a dick, in a pretty small way.
Incidentally, if you're going to start going after people who made Donald Trump look like a bit of a dick, you might want to start a little closer to Campaign HQ.

In this case it is because it appears that we funded the research that led to the Woo-Flu
It would be nice to know when/how/why/who
And do we plan to do it again?

I think your bullshit detector might be in need of calibration.

That is an amazing allegation and I won’t dismiss it out of hand. Let’s see if it was a one night riff or something that has legs. I’d love A Glenn Greenwood on the case.

Read it if you dare!
It is pretty straight-forward public information.
NIH paid EcoHealth Alliance
Dr. Fauci is the boss
EcoHealth Alliance paid the Wuhan lab
The National Institutes of Health has awarded a grant worth $7.5 million over five years to EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S.-based nonprofit that hunts emerging viruses. The award comes months after NIH revoked an earlier grant to EcoHealth, a move scientists widely decried as the politically motivated quashing of research vital to preventing the next coronavirus pandemic.
EcoHealth's bat research in China was entirely funded through the $3.7 million NIH grant. A small portion — about $76,000 per year — was used to pay the Wuhan lab for its on-the-ground work.
Funded by NIH
Let's go to the NIH web site and see who is the director?

A familiar face!
Why The U.S. Government Stopped Funding A Research Project On Bats And Coronaviruses
The U.S. government has suddenly terminated funding for a years-long research project in China that many experts say is vital to preventing the next major coronavirus outbreak.
Nonetheless, at an April 17 news conference, President Trump said he had given instructions to check if any U.S. funding was slated for the Wuhan Institute, and if so, he said, it would immediately be terminated. Days later, on April 24, the National Institutes of Health, or NIH — which was providing the grant for the project — notified EcoHealth Alliance that the money was being canceled, as first reported by Politico.

I don't consider it an allegation. AFAIK, those are facts.

Taxpayers money went into a foreign research lab on something or another that undoubtedly involved a legitmate US based partner!
Oh, the harumpfing indignation of it all!
It happens all the time the world over.
But it doesn't usually generate a world-wide pandemic.
In this case, that is a distinct possibility. Not proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, but a distinct possibility.
I don't think the ultimate goal of this is to eviscerate Fauci, as much as it is to pin the tail on the Chinese donkey...

No, you move down the line until you come to a Democrat. At that point, you stop and that is the person that gets the blame.

Yep, I still dont believe it is true. Does the US provide funding for various projects? Yes.
Did the Chinese come to Dr. Fauci and say, "Hey, we are going to develop a biological weapon that we will use on the western world. Can we have some money from you?"
Dr. Fauci "That is a great idea. On behalf of the US, here is a bunch of money"
I have been involved with development projects in different countries, and the source of the project money may be coming from sources such at US and China at the same time. They may know the general scope of the project. When looking for grants and funding, oftentimes, the grant application is written quite broad to appeal to the largest group of funders. For example, "Research to help lower infection rate among villagers in rural Indonesia" So, a lab gets funding from the US and China. Could some of that research be on viruses? Sure. Could a "rouge" sub-group take that research further and for bad means? Sure.
HOWEVER, I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS CASE.
