All kewl
This was over Tel Aviv last night
Looks like Star Wars. Jedi’s flying around.
It's real-life fucking Missile Command. Even the sound.
Glad you're doing okay, bach.

I'm worried about the environmental impact of all those mid-air explosions.
I'm more worried about the impacts generally.

Don’t worry. The IDF purchased a bunch of offsets in Brazilian rain forests.

Wow! that is crazy!! Are the flashes when it hits another missile?
Stay safe @bachophile

UNQUOTEI dont want to minimize the situation there, but why would that be considered the most important story in the world right now?

The possibility of a fresh war in the ME, involving multiple nations?

I don’t Know enough about that area or situation to know whether that is a real possibility or not. But from a “big picture” outside view, what is the strategic aspect to this and the fighting between the two? Not oil, right? Not shipping or water rights? Is it Because a lot of people from the US live there?
Again, I don’t know much about the situation, but from the 10,000 m view, it seems to generate more news than it should.
(I should add that I am not minimizing what is happening to the people there. Just trying to understand why it is so important)

I think it starts with six million reasons...

Gosh, I don't know.
On a personal level maybe it's because one of our own and probably many friends of ours are getting rockets randomly lobbed at them.
On a humanitarian level it's because innocent civilians are being killed because the rabid dogs of Hamas and the like care more about their power and their grudges than their people.
On a national level we are a staunch (I hope) ally of Israel and are obligated to come to their defense if necessary.
On a global level it has the potential to deteriorate into a more major conflict in the Middle East with ramifications lasting years if not decades.

Thanks. That makes sense. I am not very familiar with that area and the conflicts that are going on there.
Just seems that there are so many going on around the world, from conflicts in Africa, to Myanmar, The Middle East, to former Soviet union, Taiwan/China etc.
