cool looking plane. I am sure it is awesome in person.

If the pic doesn't show, I'll repost it tomorrow. This is the transport plane by the airport, the entire airport building. The plane is nearly as big as the airport.

Remind me to tell Mr. Brenda my Langley/Carter story sometime...
Indeed. We'll have him join a happy hour, beverage and all. He's adorable, but I am biased.

C-5 galaxy
Yea pretty cool, I’ve seen them fly over here a number of times, moving sh*t around the world.
Yeah, we don't have those much around here.

Good story, Brenda!
I wish your husband would have tried just a bit of humor, to see how that goes."Wanted to let you know, your plane's pregnant."
"OMG hubby (in low voice), they know. . . "Well, if you ever get another opportunity, let us know first. We can all help you with what you or your husband should say.

Those travel arrangements are exceptional.
I have NEVER seen a plane as large as that transport plane. Holy cow, that thing is just enormous.
You need one, Copper. You want one.
We used to take our planes to Martinsburg, WV for maintenance. The national guard used to keep c5s there. Sharing a taxiway with those was really fun. It was like looking up at the Empire State Building with wings.
They replaced this c5s with c17s, which is what I believe is pictured above, pretty airplanes. It was fun to share practice airspace with them.

LOL, Rainman. You would all have fun giving advice, I'm sure. I don't know that I would have been able to make use of it though. While hubby was blithely driving right past Mr, SS and the other SS or LE with him, my brain was registering surprise and shock that we were doing exactly what we been asked NOT to do. It's a good thing my jaw didn't hit the floor mat.
BTW, our 1994 Tahoe is not a deluxe vehicle. That was just me being silly. It's a 1994 with about 250K miles on it. It's our winter beater vehicle.

Sharing practice airspace with those must have been like a porpoise swimming with whales.

Not to worry. TNCR has threads that evolve rather quickly sometimes. That's why I changed my tune to let people know they can post whatever they want.
And sometimes a gal just wants to have fun. That's me.
My work can be rather serious, so here I tend to post lighthearted things meant to entertain. They probably seem frivolous and completely unnecessary, and that's okay with me. I'm all for frivolity. Bring on the frivolity! And the frogs!
Frivolous frogs are my speciality. Y'all just wait 'til this summer. Moar frogs!
Frivolity is always good.

I took this in Martinsburg 4+ years ago, it looks bigger in person

Here's the pic I posted in a reply to Horace, or I should say I tried to post. Easier to do when using my laptop, rather than my phone.
We have a very small international airport. You're looking at the entire terminal building on the left. Compare that to the wing span of the plane. The plane is slightly closer than the building, but not much.

The entire control tower building on the left, Pence's plane in the distance, and the cargo plane for size comparison to the building.

The small airport we have actually made it possible to see these things. I may never have this experience again in my lifetime. So glad hubby had heard word of the visit. I was so busy with work, I missed hearing about it at all.
We're kicking ourselves for not at least asking the SS guy if we could go far enough to see the plane. I'm sure he would have said no, but you never know until you ask.
If there is ever a 'next time', we're going to bring a FedEx package along with us.

SmallER than a galaxy.

Link to videoSuch a smooth looking landing. I'm wondering what kind of brakes it takes. The pilot made it look graceful.

One of the C17s would be great for hauling all of our kiddo's stuff when she moves. I think it would all fit.
