Remember that Blockbuster video you didn't return?

A former Oklahoma resident got married and when she tried to change her last name on her Texas driver’s license, found out she was a wanted woman in her old state — for failing to return a VHS tape over two decades ago.
“I went to change my driver’s license, during this COVID thing you had to make an appointment, and so, I sent them an email (and) they sent me an email and they told me… that I had an issue in Oklahoma and this was the reference number for me to call this number and I did,” Caron McBride told the local Norman, Oklahoma Fox station.
McBride was bowled over when she called the number and found out she was wanted for a felony.
“The first thing (the woman answering the phone at the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office) told me was (I was wanted for) felony embezzlement, so, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack,” McBride said.
Online documents show Caron McBride is a wanted woman for never returning a rental VHS tape of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” in 1999.
“She told me it was over the VHS tape and I had to make her repeat it because I thought, this is insane. This girl is kidding me, right? She wasn’t kidding,” McBride said.
McBride told FOX 25 she doesn’t remember ever renting the movie.
“I had lived with a young man, this was over 20 years ago. He had two kids, daughters that were 8, 10 or 11 years old, and I’m thinking he went and got it and didn’t take it back or something. I have never watched that show in my entire life, just not my cup of tea,” McBride said. “Meanwhile, I’m a wanted felon for a VHS tape.”
Documents show the movie was rented at ‘Movie Place’ in Norman, which is no longer open.

Probably the only way to clear it, is be arrested and have the DA drop the charges.
But that leaves an arrest on your record.

Oh, I think there's lots of room in this country for criminal justice reform (another thing that Trump got little credit for in the MSM).
- Should convicted felons have their voting rights restored after serving their time?
- Should they have the right to own a firearm?
- Should we take a look at sentencing?
- How do we decrease recidivism?
- Should some convicts have their criminal records expunged at a certain point?
- How do we handle education behind prison walls? Make it mandatory? Give time off for completing GED's?
- What skills do we teach in prison? Plumbing? Welding? Culinary? Carpentry? Computer Science?
- Work details? How many? How big? What do they work on? How are they supervised?
- Religion. People would be shocked by how many churches there are on the grounds of The Farm. They also would be shocked to learn you can earn a theology degree while in prison, LSP does it, because it works.

I would think the statute of limitations would apply, unless being indicted negates that.
Wouldn't that be like a bench warrant?
I don't think warrants expire, especially in the days of the computer....

She has to take responsibility for her crime.
Let this felon go and you have started down a slippery slope.
So ...
???
Yep, only the little people get locked up...

maybe she was keeping it because she hoped that the VHS would increase value like this recent video game sold.
