A pilot had to make an emergency landing in the water near the Cocoa Beach Air Show on Saturday. Fortunately, the pilot was not injured.

A plane that was part of the Cocoa Beach Air Show went down on Saturday and landed in the ocean, officials told FOX 35 News.

The plane went down in the water about 15 feet offshore, off the coast near Patrick Air Force Base, according to Dirato. It was a TBM Avenger that was part of the Warbirds multi-plane demonstration team.

The cause was from an apparent mechanical issue, Dirato told FOX 35 News.

Thought it looked like a Dauntless or Avenger. Pilot was smart to put it in deep enough water to ditch, but not so deep the plane can't be recovered.

Hope plane and pilot are minimally damaged.

Other tweets say it was an Avenger.

Gotta wonder how long it was in the salt water.

Plane and jet accidents do occur, even nowadays. They always will.

However, flying in planes and jets are very safe.
