Biden press conference

Biden had some stumbles. Overall, not too bad for over 100 days of preparation...
Are you seriously unaware that the prep for these things is done by staff, and not Biden burning the midnight oil all by himself?
Well, cheer up. Maybe one of these days your fondest dream will come true; Biden will take the podium and open his mouth and say, "On the river there's a bag of moon and abracadabra for the big pizza prize, God bless America", and drop dead. Then you and your compatriots can get busy tearing the whore to shreds.
Good times!

Are you so naive, that you don't know Biden has put a lid on his schedule for several days before the presser and has been prepping for it for at least a week?
Are you so ignorant, you were unaware that Mr. Biden broke a modern record in the number of days until his first press conference? It's been a century since a president took that long to meet with the press.
Are you unaware that Mr. Biden had to read some of his responses from his notes. I'm not talking about numbers, I'm talking about a simple response that Obama, Trump or Bush could have answered while walking down a hall.
Did you watch the presser? Do you think Biden's eyes looked normal? His eyes were opened wider than his normal look and his pupils were as wide as saucers.
Lastly, did you notice that the leader of the free world was noticeably tired by the end of a mere presser? You can't say that about Bush, Obama or Trump.

Gee, no. I didn't know that he set aside absolutely every other piece of business having to do with the presidency for "several days". Ah well, far be it from me to dispute

Why is this significant? What does it even mean?
I know you like to have the last word, so I'll let the rest of your response go. Life is short.

No, as usual, you wade into a conversation being totally ignorant of what is being discussed.
I haven't cited Breitbart, that's just your (very weak) snide shot, trying to deflect your ignorance about Biden's lid this week.
So, what does it mean that Biden would not meet with a fawning press? I think it a worthy question. If President Trump had done the same thing with a hostile press, you'd be screaming from the rooftops. What's good for the goose, etc...

Those two girls prominently in the middle look like quintessential Mean Girls, don't they? They're like, "Eat this, bitch."
The one on the right looks like Kamala.
I don't get the joke. A WH Press Corps journo is half stenographer, half gossip columnist. It's been that way for decades.

There's a lot to know for a non-idealogue who strives toward openminded-ness.
You don't have to be an idealogue. A cursory glance through this board once a day can keep one pretty abreast of what's happening, with views on both sides.

@mik said in Biden press conference:
Biden is getting a lot of flak from the left for his bold statements about gun control after Boulder and yesterday's back burnering of the issue. Also immigration.
If this continues I could get to like the guy.
I suspect the White House dynamics are very interesting.

What was the biggest story of 2020? The pandemic.
What will probably be the biggest story of 2021? The pandemic.
What didn't the press corps ask about at the press conference? The pandemic.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2021/03/25/biden-pandemic-questions/
President Biden began his first White House news conference by practically inviting reporters to ask him about the major story of the past year. He talked about his administration’s efforts to reopen schools closed during the pandemic, celebrated a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package and announced a new goal to administer 200 million doses of coronavirus vaccines by his 100th day in office.
But the president’s introductory remarks were the last time the pandemic was mentioned during Thursday’s Q&A. Over the next hour, not a single one of the masked and socially distanced journalists assembled in the East Room asked about it.
Spokesperson for Peslosi explained:
The website Talking Points Memo noted that White House aides retweeted some of these criticisms, and a deputy communications director for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested that the Democratic Party’s pandemic relief measures were too popular for the press to take an interest in.

Well, in fairness to whoever, President Trump had a grand total of ONE solo press conference in 2017 for the whole year. So, President Biden still has more than nine months to double the number President Trump had.
And based on the chart below, it is not like any recent president has given alot.

The true measure of greatness in any leader is the number of rambling, semi-coherent self-aggrandizing Tweets he publishes each day.
And I think you'll find that the clear winner there is Taft. By a lot.
