Problems with direct deposits of CARES Act tax refunds

“Middlemen” in the tax preparation industry complicates IRS efforts to directly deposits CARES Act tax refunds into intended recipients’ accounts.
Not that there is necessarily a villain, it’s more about a litany of long standing issues plaguing the lower income tax filers.

A friend of mine has a son who already received their tax refund yet the IRS website for the stimulus payment doesn’t know who that person is...
So I know for a fact the IRS has some interesting problems of their own.

Man, if you ever needed another reason to hate TurboTax. What they did to that guy from Crawfordsville (MFR's home town) is disgraceful. My daugter used turbotax this year again and it tried to nick her for $60 to enter HSA info. But if you skip that and go on there is a way to create your 8889s free later on. Swine.
