Now, what are the odds of all these different outlets using the phrase "mass shootings" within the time frame you are seeing?
The odds are high when the phrase fairly accurately describes reality. It’s like you put an apple in front of various independent observers and most of these independent observers tell you they see an “apple.” The odds are high that many of them would use the word “apple” when that word fairly accurately describes the reality of what they saw.

You don't work in media and don't know what you're talking about.

Wouldn't you love to know who writes the headline for all these outlets?
There has to be a single point of origin.
It happens almost every day.
I think the question is, is this headline pushed or pulled?
Of course I wonder if this single point will start Jolly's war.

It’s like a form article with the names and numbers changed, written by the same two guys for the USA Today Network of Newspapers.
If you go to his site you will see a whole bunch of the same article for different states. https://muckrack.com/marcodellacava/articles

Yeah, this doesn’t look like a major conspiracy to take anybody’s guns, just a form article that looks like it has been published for different states over 3 weeks.

My assessment also. It is not at all what Ax insinuated.

Those words work across multiple states because those words fairly accurately describe the realities of those states.
You can call it “shaping,” but it’s just the shape of reality.
