He played Gandalf in Lord of the Rings and Magneto in X-Men, as well as some old Shakespearean rubbish.
I would normally only have expected Jon to be this clueless about pop culture

Loved him in Richard III. Almost as much as I loved Stacey Kent singing in the beginning of the movie. And a LOT more than I loved Robert Downey Jr in it.
