Why would anybody be surprised by these statistics?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

My school started back in session at the very end of January--just in time for a nasty weather change. We keep the windows open all day, regardless of the weather, and although we try to eat outside whenever possible, there have been some days that were just too cold (or the ground had snow/ice).
So, on some days we eat indoors, 10 kids and 1 teacher to a room. Masks off.
It´s supposed to be silent lunch but, well, they are goofy middle schoolers who haven´t been able to chat with their peers for a year.
Guess who´s glad to be vaccinated :woman-raising-hand:

Also, I would assume that obesity and weight problems become more prevalent once people get older, so the percentage of older people who are overweight will be higher than these numbers. It's just possible that age is the factor, not obesity.

Obesity seems to be pretty age-agnostic:

@Doctor-Phibes beat me to the stats, 78% hospitalization is only slightly higher than the whole.
However, as @George-K has pointed out in the past, this is a vascular disease which would be the hardest on overweight people with vascular issues and diabetics. That’s what we saw. There are aberrations, but that’s to be expected.
