Episode 4 today.
Much less soap than previously (a good thing).
The race to Mars is underway with three competitors: NASA,
SpaceXHelios, and theRussiansUSSR.Lots of good sci-fi drama and a fair amount of sneaky intrigue.
I'm enjoying this much more than I thought I would.

@xenon oh, yeah.
Weird AF, but totally engrossing.
This is going to be one of those shows, when the next season comes out, I'm going to say, "What? Wait... Let me review the last 3-4 episodes from the preceding season."
Loved it also.

I like to wait until a whole season of something has dropped so I can take a dive into it and binge through multiple episodes.
I did that with Severance, Yellowstone, Das Boot, Ozark and others. Waiting for the 2nd half of Better Call Saul.
But For All Mankind has me on a weekly basis.
Looking forward to Teheran, by the way.
(I love spy shows)

I just put Tehran on my next up list at.
Today was one of those, "Hey, I'm retired and there's nothing on the agenda" days. So...I binged through most of "Tehran."
Dark, ambiguous. So many conflicted characters. Casting Glen Close was a bit of a stretch, but she's such a good actress that it sort of worked.
I love spy shows...

Watching the first episode of “For All Mankind” right now. Does the show get better? A 15 minute intro to get to the big shocking moment that was always advertised as the basic premise of the show…Russians got to the moon first?! What a twist! (sarcasm mode) Now let’s cut to the US astronauts being pissed and racing to a bar. Each and every single one in their very own brand new Corvette? A portrayal of Nixon that is absolutely nothing like the guy but wants to reinforce the Hollywood trope of the man and Republicans in general?
Sorry, but I am not impressed so far. Does it improve?

Yes it does. A lot better.
Once you accept the alternate history timeline, there's a lot of fun stuff that makes it a fun watch. It has the obligate "woke-y" stuff, because it's Apple TV. Yeah, drug use, gay stuff, etc.
At times it gets soapy too.
This isn't history, so don't try to take it as such. It's science fiction, and as it progresses, it gets more sci-fi.
The Corvette stuff is based on history, by the way.
