    Thanks. Anything else worth watching?

    No idea.

"For all Mankind" gets good reviews, if you like woke alternate history.

Teheran gets good reviews as well - haven't watched.

I'll probably watch Foundation, because I loved the books and I love Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Expanse, The Terror).

    A ton of fun.

Season 3 started last week, and two episodes are up on Apple TV+.

The first season deals with the early days of space exploration, and deals with the first manned mission to the moon. It shows the 1st astronaut setting foot on the moon - he's Russian.

Second season skips forward 10 years. A permanent base is established on the moon, and tensions are high between the US and USSR. Some hokey drama stuff, but a good story.

Third season jumps forward to 1992. A former (woman) astronaut is running for president against Bill Clinton. NASA is gearing up for a mission to Mars in 1996. Meanwhile an Elon Musk-like guy wants to take human space exploration private.

As I said, it's fun. Kinda interesting watching alternative history. Well done.

      Episode 4 today.

Much less soap than previously (a good thing).

The race to Mars is underway with three competitors: NASA, SpaceX Helios, and the Russians USSR.

Lots of good sci-fi drama and a fair amount of sneaky intrigue.

I'm enjoying this much more than I thought I would.

          @xenon oh, yeah.

          Weird AF, but totally engrossing.

This is going to be one of those shows, when the next season comes out, I'm going to say, "What? Wait... Let me review the last 3-4 episodes from the preceding season."

          Loved it also.

I like to wait until a whole season of something has dropped so I can take a dive into it and binge through multiple episodes.

I did that with Severance, Yellowstone, Das Boot, Ozark and others. Waiting for the 2nd half of Better Call Saul.

But For All Mankind has me on a weekly basis.

Looking forward to Teheran, by the way.

You should see Greg Kinnear. His face has really changed. Not badly, just different.

A bit less on the soap this week. It remains, overall, very, very good.

Joel Kinnamon ("Altered Carbon" when it was good), is outstanding, as is the supporting cast.

Today was one of those, "Hey, I'm retired and there's nothing on the agenda" days. So...I binged through most of "Tehran."

Dark, ambiguous. So many conflicted characters. Casting Glen Close was a bit of a stretch, but she's such a good actress that it sort of worked.

Watching the first episode of “For All Mankind” right now. Does the show get better? A 15 minute intro to get to the big shocking moment that was always advertised as the basic premise of the show…Russians got to the moon first?! What a twist! (sarcasm mode) Now let’s cut to the US astronauts being pissed and racing to a bar. Each and every single one in their very own brand new Corvette? A portrayal of Nixon that is absolutely nothing like the guy but wants to reinforce the Hollywood trope of the man and Republicans in general?

Sorry, but I am not impressed so far. Does it improve?

Yes it does. A lot better.

Once you accept the alternate history timeline, there's a lot of fun stuff that makes it a fun watch. It has the obligate "woke-y" stuff, because it's Apple TV. Yeah, drug use, gay stuff, etc.

At times it gets soapy too.

This isn't history, so don't try to take it as such. It's science fiction, and as it progresses, it gets more sci-fi.

The Corvette stuff is based on history, by the way.
