Thanks. Test came back negative this am. She is now clear to go for the Pfizer shot on Monday pm.

A few cases discovered from the tests among staff including one radiation oncologist, all being the UK variant. Hospital still considered on outbreak.

Vaccine administered on Monday as scheduled with minimal side effects.

Big concern here is that P1 variant cases traced back to BC are starting to be found in Calgary area.

Finally, I've got my first shot today (Biontech/Pfizer).

And that was only possible after letting a couple of scripts run on my computer which polled the nearby vaccination centers for free slots multiple times per minute.

In six weeks I'm due for the second shot.

I don't really give a damn about the vaccination, though. All I really want is the piece of paper I get.

It's literally walk into multiple pharmacies around here, no waiting, just walk up and fill out your paperwork. They make you wait for 20 minutes after the shot, but the whole process doesn't take 30 minutes.

I'm sorry to hear this, Cats. I hope this changes for you soon. It's no fun to be cooped up. Can you be outdoors some of the time? That helps immensely.

The process itself is also very quick here. It's just the vaccine and hence the slots that are rare.

Beware, that marks you as selfish in the eyes of many. The social benefit of getting vaccinated should cause a decent person to care.
