I suspect this to be just another hoax, fabricated just for clicks.

If I know how to open up the phone ahead of time to stick a paper note inside, chances are I would also know how to make the phone not repariable. There is no need to spend that £50 to then rely on a third party to keep your secret.

well the repair people wouldn't record the repair anyway.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Ax, did you stop and think before you posted this reply? 🙁 He can't own up to breaking his own phone; whether he breaks it himself or not, he needs the receipt from the repair shop to prove to his wife he tried to get it repaired. Which means professionals will be looking at the phone, which means he can't take the chance that they can indeed repair it?

I would suggest thinking more about your replies before posting them. Also you might want to stay out of any humorous discussion as your contributions are always substandard and only appreciated ironically.

        Hope that helps!

        Please love yourself.

That and I am sure that the phone ship opened the phone, saw the note, laughed, called the other worker over and said, “you have to see this” and then they filmed it

After you render your own phone unrepairable, you can still take it to the repair shop and have the repair shop give you a statement that says it's not reparable.

Feel free to conduct a double-blind test of this hypothesis or find any relevant SSRN studies, and share them here because that's absolutely why others are reading this thread. To get to the bottom of whether or not this guy's assumptions were valid. Thanks!

Wouldn’t the information from What’s App be stored in the cloud? Wouldn’t matter if the phone was fixed or not...

Depends on the app and if the guy even allowed cloud storage for it.

We are not talking about the “average person”, but one who knows how to open up a modern smartphone.

And it's far more reasonable to presume that he has an average understanding of phone hardware as very few people as population percentage know more than nothing. You're unreasonably presuming he's a phone hardware expert because buzzkilling and ribbing people to piss them off is your hobby.
