It's actually the most human thing on TV right now. We have finished season 3 and while it gets a little ridiculous in places, it has its moments. Rather addicting. Not sure it can really be sustained.

The one surprising thing to me is that Ralph Macchio forgot how to act? As a teenager he was fine in Karate Kid, Crossroads, My Cousin Vinny, etc...

As an adult, he is wooden and doesn't even seem like the same person.

We watched all three seasons. It got to be a bit too silly - the plots a bit overwrought. And even from the standpoint of theatrical fight scenes - ridiculous. Kids join a karate studio and 3 weeks later are karate proficient - can take a kick to the face and continue fighting for another 10 minutes. Goes off the rails the further it goes.

Agreed. The fight stuff is way, way out of hand. They might as well play 'KungFu Fighting' throughout.

Contrary to my last post, one show that Karla and I have managed to sneak in a few episodes of is Cobra Kai. We’re about 3 episodes in and have mixed emotions. Parts of it are brilliant (IMO) and other parts less so.

Anybody else watch it? Is it worth watching for the long haul?

Watched only the 1st episode that YouTube makes available for free as a teaser. The rest seems to be available only to "YouTube Premium," a subscription service. I do not have to subscribe to yet another streaming service, so I haven't watch any episode past the first one.

I think I like the idea, but not enough to subscribe to YouTube Premium just for it.

OK, I was not aware that it is also available on Netflix. Cool!

When I watched it, it was branded a "YouTube Original"'

There hasn't been a movie made in the history of the world where that wouldn't be a significant improvement.

Just pause for a moment, and imagine if you will any movie that springs to mind, whether it be The Terminator, or The Elephant Man, or The Talented Mr. Ripley - heck, I'd even sit through Titanic if that was the soundtrack!

                    I was only joking

Imagine "KungFu Fighting" as the soundtrack for The Queens Gambit. 😑

After 5 seasons through the series, I want to go back to the original Karate Kid movies and root for Johnny or Chozen to take that whiny Laruso jackass out...

                        Sweep the leg, Johnny!

The writers of Cobra Kai did a great job of redeeming Johnny!

High Art it wasn’t, but it was fun and a nice bit of nostalgia…

It was fun for a while but just started spinning going nowhere.

No. I think we dropped off in the second or third. Lost interest.
