Parler and the insurrection

One thing I found out last night is how much easier Parler made it for people to collect evidence from the capitol insurrection.
Apparently Parler didn’t scrape metadata from images like twitter does. So gps location information can be tied to individual user photos. Also they don’t randomize their file names so people could easily write scripts to download their photos en mass.
At least one, probably several groups downloaded all the photos and archived them as the riot unfolded, making them publicly available even after the perps (supposedly) deleted them.

I assume the metadata could also provide a fingerprint (OS version, lens characteristics etc.) with which one could identify the device with which a photo was taken.

It is crazy how much data is out there on me (and everybody else). LOL
