That happens relatively often. If you plan to drive up the coast, always check conditions. We had to detour around Lompoc, and there the road isn't really near the coast. But it is a spectacular drive if you get the chance. I do recommend going north, not south.

I’ve done it 3 times. When the sun is out it’s tough to think of a more beautiful place in the US.

I made the drive two weeks ago. Have done it 4 times since covid. Always mesmerizing. That hole looks like a one year project. Damm.

Even us Minnesoooootans have driven that. It was while kiddo was in undergraduate school. It's spectacular.

I hope nobody was going too fast on it that night.
