Hand is good. There's still a little tightness over the knuckle when I flex my index finger. At it's worst, it was so bad that I couldn't make the
white supremacy"OK" sign with my index finger and thumb. Still a little swelling, but not noticeable.This happened to Mrs. George about a year ago (on the forearm, however), and she needed some IV antibiotics as well. As the Unasyn was infusing, she could actually feel it getting better. By the time the infusion was done, the redness had decreased. This was over the space of an hour!
However, for me, there was no immediate relief. By the time I got home, I was no better, and I was thinking that I'd have to go back for another round the next day. Fortunately, that didn't happen.
The interesting thing is that, if you look at the pictures, you can see a bite on the other hand that occurred at the same time. No infection there. I presume that's because the one on my left hand bled for a while, effectively "rinsing" out all the baddies. The one on the right hand was like an injection of bacteria.
