I'd need corroboration of this story.
Are we to understand that the White House was completely deserted? Or that there was no non-usher employee on the premises to whom it would occur to take some sort of action? Even to call somebody?
"Hey, Boss, the President of the United States is standing on the stoop, and there are no ushers. Whaddya think? Should I let him in?"

It is possible that they kept the staff out of the frame while the president posed for pictures. The door opened as soon as they walked to it.

LOL . I watched the video. They stood out front celebrating the music and taking it all in and then when the music ended they turned and walked in.
