There's a city in Italy - Genoa. Pronounced "GEN-oh-ah."
In northern Illinois, there's a city, Genoa, which is pronounced "Gen-OH-ah."
Go figger. It's almost Wisconsin.
So, today, I went to the grocery store, and at the deli, I wanted some GEN-oh-ah salami. The lady behind the counter looked at me like was from Mars.
"You mean Gen-OH-ah?"
"Yeah, that'll be fine.
