This is huge. We should do this too.

    Only non-witches get due process.

      Wow. Yeah we should.

Oz expanded their visas for people from there back in July.

      Please love yourself.

Why should we do this for Hong Kong residents?

The UK imperative is easy to understand, and probably was contemplated in the original deal - if and when China took over.

What is our rationale? How does that help in our emerging Cold War with China?

The Biden family is owned by China, and other countries.

            See the Tony Bobulinski interview.

            Elections have consequences.

Lots of talented and ambitious people there. Good English skills.

No but dear UK friends who lived there as ex pats. Great but dated stories. Been to Japan.

Get your point and it makes sense. I haven’t been reading much about HK lately but I am reading full capitulation now and didn’t realize we had gone that far.

Would that be opening the doors wide open to Chinese infiltration?

                    Thankfully.

Here's hoping there's a few doctors and nurses who wish to move

No more so to Nazy and Eastern German infiltrations as we accepted the persecuted Jews and defected East Germans. No more so to Viet Cong infiltration as we accepted the Vietnamese. We also have more comprehensive data trails and much better data analytic tools to verify one's residential histories and political affiliations today than any other times before.

That's pretty much exactly what some in the US said about accepting German Jews in the 1930's.

                        I was only joking

It was. I believe that when the China handover in 1997, the residents at that time were offered to either take a UK passport, or the special HK passport. Most took the special HK passport, as they had "roots" there and did not want to give that up.
