"Law and Crime" and Vox columnists call for Pelosi to be expelled from the House of Representatives
-
CNN's Asha Rangappa quotes statement from the House floor:
"“Holy shit! Is [Gohmert] encouraging MORE ‘uprisings’??!? Did I hear that right??????????”
https://lawandcrime.com/author/elura/
“You did. His testimony should be used to immediately expel him,” Law & Crime columnist Elura Nanos replied.
Vox piles on!
“Louie Gohmert on the House floor: ‘I just don’t even know why there aren’t more — aren’t uprisings all over the country, and maybe there will be,'” Vox politics editor Laura McGann
One problem with this: Gohmert was quoting Nancy Pelosi:
“Here’s a quote: ‘I just don’t even know why there aren’t more–why there aren’t uprisings all over the country and maybe there will be,'” Gohmert began. “Or, ‘Sadly, the domestic enemies of our voting system and honoring our Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with their allies in Congress.’ We were called ‘enemies’ of the state. Those were all quotes from our speaker.
So, by the standard of Dan Abrams' Law & Crime columnist, the politics editor of Vox, and CNN, those words are sufficient to cause expulsion from the House of Representatives.
But not when the Speaker says them, apparently, because all these tweets were deleted.
Because journalism.

Tuberville also questioned the timing of the inauguration on January 20.
“We probably could have had a swearing-in and inauguration later after we got this virus behind us a little bit. Again, we’re talking about Washington, D.C.,” Tuberville said.
However, the 20th Amendment to the Constitution requires that the inauguration and swearing-in of a new President take place on January 20th. It wasn’t clear if Tuberville was aware of that during the interview.
Um, that's not what he said:
The CBS story missed a couple of words: "done an"
In other words Senator Tuberville was saying, swear in as in the Constitution, but do the inauguration (which is a ceremony) at a later time.
LBJ was sworn in on an airplane, that didn't make him not the President because there was no inauguration.
Because, journalism.
