Dan Eckhart, who is representing the suspect Adam Johnson, acknowledged in an interview on Monday that the images of his client do not put him in a good position.
In one photograph from last Wednesday’s Capitol riot, Johnson, 36, holds Pelosi’s lectern on his right arm and waves with his left hand, while grinning.
“You have a photograph of our client in a building, unauthorized to be there, with what appears to be a podium or a lectern, I’m not exactly sure which one it is called, but that’s what we have,’’ Eckhart said.
A reporter then remarked that would be a problem for Eckhart as a defense attorney.

“Yes, I don’t know how else to explain that, but yeah, that would be a problem,” Eckhart replied.“I’m not a magician, so yeah, we’ve got a photograph of our client in what appears to be inside a federal building or inside the Capitol with federal property.’’

Further translation: "I don't want this abortion of a case, which is why I'm doing my best to sabotage my client right here in front of you fine ladies and gentlemen of the press and getting my fine ass thrown off it."
(Before you go, Daniel; ask him what he did with the podium/lectern.)

What the hell else is he going to say? It’s a fake? That wasn’t his client? It’s open and shut, the guy is going to plead guilty and pray for the best.

Did he take or break that lectern? Or did he just pose?

How about nothing? He doesn't owe the press to try the case on the courthouse steps.
