Leftists Target Justice Thomas After Wife's Alleged Posts on Capitol Protest
Left-wing voices are going after Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife, Ginni Thomas, for alleged Facebook posts Ginni Thomas made prior to the Capitol incursion Wednesday.Slate staff writer Mark Joseph Stern brought attention to the alleged posts on the latter Thomas’ account, triggering swift scrutiny of both her and her husband.
According to Stern, Thomas indicated that she was in support of the protests in Washington, D.C., Wednesday morning, which later developed into a riot as people stormed Capitol Hill.
“On the morning of Jan. 6, Ginni Thomas — wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas — endorsed the protest demanding that Congress overturn the election, then sent her ‘LOVE’ to the demonstrators, who violently overtook the Capitol several hours later. She has not posted since.”
By Friday, it appeared her Facebook page, along with the posts in question, had been taken down.
People quickly took note and immediately demanded Justice Thomas be punished for his wife’s alleged comments:

On the first part, I agree. I don't think Thomas's wife meant support for the violence component. As for President Trump, I suspect his feelings probably are more related to the negative public opinion than the outright assault on the Capitol.

No, he did not, but he encouraged them to march to the Capitol. Again, what was he expecting? It is difficult to know what was in his mind.
My hunch is that it never crossed Trump's mind that his cheer leading rhetoric could motivate elements in the crowd to ignite a riot on the Capitol. Yet another aspect of what makes Trump come across as a loose cannon to people who find his enthusiastic boosterism repugnant.

yeah but fair and objective to you is hatred for all things Trump. I recall he was unequivocal about the condemnation of anybody breaking the law. Feel free to post a transcript if you believe it proves me wrong. I am going by memory having listened to it once.

Are justices to recuse themselves because they have friends or family that hold unpopular opinions? Show me what Justice Thomas has DONE that would justify recusal. Near as I can see, all his wife did was express an opinion.
