The CEO of an Illinois marketing firm who was charged during the storming of the U.S. Capitol this Wednesday is now saying that participating in the mob violence was the worst decision of his life.

Yes I imagine it was. He will be dealt with much more harshly than any participant in a BLM protest that turned violent.

Anybody who joins a right wing protest these days has little cultural awareness, or maybe just nothing to lose. Meanwhile, anybody can join left wing protests all day, with impunity.

@Horace Had he just joined a protest I’m sure he’d be fine. He participated in the assault on the Capitol.

      Only non-witches get due process.

You think anybody outed as being there, even if they didn't storm the capital, will be fine? Their jobs safe?

They can run but they can't hide.

“This investigation has the highest priority of the Department of Justice. We have literally hundreds of prosecutors and agents working from three command centers on what is really a 24-hour a day operation. It is active, it is fluid, it is evolving,” said Principal Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth C. Kohl of Washington on Friday.

FBI Washington Field Office chief Steven M. D’Antuono said, “Just because you’ve left the D.C. region, you can still expect a knock on the door if we find out you were part of criminal activity in the Capitol.”

          From the same piece:

Authorities looking to prosecute the mob of Trump supporters who overran the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday stand to get powerful help from cellphone records, facial recognition tools and other technologies to assist in the identification of anyone who was there that day.
The Capitol, more than most buildings, has a vast cellular and wireless data infrastructure of its own to make communications efficient in a building made largely of stone and that extends deep underground and has pockets of shielded areas. Such infrastructure, such as individual cell towers, can turn any connected phone into its own tracking device.

Let this be the end of violent protests. Very exciting. Throw the book at them.

I'm fine with that. They wanna prosecute last year's arsonists I'd be okay with that, too, but it'll be harder. The Capitol's surveillance is a bit more robust than basically everywhere.

            Please love yourself.

Absolutely, I'm all for throwing the book at mob protesters who break the law. We have to (finally) set some decent precedents around that. We've obviously been teaching some very bad lessons of late.

Throwing Trump supporters in jail is not a precedent to throwing blm supporters in jail.

                That is entirely different.

                  Public crucifixions.

                  Arlington has some nice hills.

Could you clarify which american citizens you would like to have publically crucified
