We never went to steak houses growing up. They weren’t really in the family budget. My mom overcooked steaks at home.

Growing up with 6 children in the family we never went to any restaurant.

Maybe once a year to Howard Johnson during summer vacation.

We used to lick the road clean for sustenance.

        I was only joking

We licked ours uphill. Both ways.

Same here. It gave us very strong jaws.

                Raise your own cows.

                You get steak.

It can vary greatly. Some of the most interesting came from a Guernsey yearling (you could buy the three day old bull calves for $8 each) we literally raised on sweet feed. Steaks had a sweet taste.

I thought you only did that with sheep. Did you wear your wellies?
