The Senate releases its schedule. Red days are recess.

    Only non-witches get due process.

If they’re supposed to spend substantial time with constituents at home, that’s not exactly a bad schedule. Recess simply means “not meeting in the chamber,” outside the chamber you still have to draft legislations and negotiate budgets and raise funds and campaign.

Here's the House Calendar, pretty similar:

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

George - the days in red (black on the House calendar) should just be labeled 'fundraising'.

I agree. The "Green Days" on the House Calendar are presumably when it's in session: 105 days by my count. Add the "Committee Work Days" in Blue - and you get 164 or so.

Ax took the words right out of my keyboard. A lot of work gets done outside the chamber -- possibly the work of real importance, along with the cocktail schmoozing circuit. Which can include stress-relieving bitch sessions about a-hole constituents.

If you watch C-SPAN, you will often see Reps and Senators presenting their remarks to a chamber that is completely empty.
