@jolly so you’re cool with President’s now kicking and screaming when they lose - with claims they can’t back up with evidence?
That’s the preferable way to do this?
It would really really help in these discussions if you and Jon would take some time to educate yourself on the facts.
They HAVE backed up their claims with evidence. LOTS AND LOTS of evidence. But what good is evidence if no one will listen to it, the media covers it up, and low information sheep continually bleat about "back it up with evidence" but if your widdle ears hear any of it you mock it and shove your head in the ground?

Mr. Pot, I'd like to introduce you to Mr. Kettle.

Right. The Supreme Court and the various state judges have their heads up their asses. But Trump and his legal krakens are the ones seeing straight.

The supreme court refused to look at the evidence, the state judges refused to look at the evidence. You said Trumps team couldn't back anything up with evidence. I said they have lots of evidence. Refusing to look at the evidence does not mean there's no evidence to look at. So like I said... I really wish you would take the time to educate yourself. If you won't do that, at least learn how to follow logic.

Alito specifically said “I would therefore grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief”
He'd hear it, and dismiss it. He didn't need to say the second part of the sentence.
Where they have pushed their case they've gotten rebuked. In one of their last cases when the judge did unexpectedly ask the Trump team to lay out their case - they just folded.
I have been following this and have listened to conspiracy theorists.
I'll ask you for the umpteenth time - who ran this cross state conspiracy? Was Joe involved in it?
What sort of organization is this - that simultaneously leaves no tangible evidence of fraud but makes it glaringly obvious that there was fraud, and also graciously came up with a split congress instead of giving it to the dems?
Oh plus they somehow recruited Republican governors and election officials to aid in their crimes.

@Larry As recently as Sunday, after the SCOTUS ruling, Trump was given standing and and opportunity to present evidence by a Trump appointed judge in Wisconsin.
You what Team Trump said?
Never mind.

Why bother calling witnesses when anybody with an ounce of common sense can see the election was rigged?

Indeed. It's a "fact". A fact with so much evidence that it is absurd to even ask for specific evidence that would be taken seriously by a court. It's more certain than gravity and even existence itself!

No but I will point out if his tweets cease to be of utilitarian value to others. Nothing worse than a useless curmudgeon, let’s say like a Krugman.

Precincts with thousands of Biden votes and no Trump votes. Massive leads by Trump, that are wiped out by uncounted ballots that suddenly get counted in the wee hours of the morning. Multiple swing states that all flip from red to blue at the same time. Dead people voting. People receiving multiple ballots. People receiving ballots that did not ask for them. The MSM media smothering the Hunter Biden story. The MSM ejecting any attempt at unbiased reporting and promoting Democrat propaganda. Marked bias in the debate questions, especially in the first debate. Allowing demonstrations in the public streets, but banning voter rallies. Votes that arrived late were counted in some states. Signatures were not matched in many states. Very few absentee ballots rejected, much less than previous elections, even though there was a massive increase in those ballots. Overvotes and non-resident votes. Polling that was massively wrong, even more than 2016...Some errors exceeding 20%. Ticket -splitting in numbers never seen before...Biden had absolutely no coattails.
So, there are many of Americans, including me, that believe a massive effort was made to take Trump out of the Oval Office, using means both legal (and remember legal does not always mean right or fair) and illegal means. Therefore, I have no problem with Trump using all legal and Constitutional means to fight a rigged election.
So that begs the question...Who is who's bitch? The man in the ring, who will not go down? Or the man obsessed with him, jeering from the crowd?

Happens both ways in every election. Was it more than usual this time?
Massive leads by Trump, that are wiped out by uncounted ballots that suddenly get counted in the wee hours of the morning.
Utterly predictable for two reasons: (1) Larger, denser precincts take longer to count, more likely to be Dem. (2) Many states were prevented from counting mail in ballots until Election Day, often (as in PA) by GOP legislatures with malice aforethought.
Multiple swing states that all flip from red to blue at the same time.
I don't see it in the data.

Dead people voting.
Yep. Happens every election in tiny numbers, I'm sure. It doesn't really scale and would be pretty random.
Jolly - honest question for you - if there's really strong evidence why did Trump constantly refuse to present any even in front of friendly judges?
-
I mentioned this in another forum thread.
Below is a (partial) list of people involved in the conspiracy. Amazing in today’s world, where everybody is willing to spill their soul for 15 minutes of TV, nobody among the thousands(?) of involved people has talked
US post office workers
Dead South American dictators (okay, they can’t talk)
Unpaid or minimum wage poll workers who are risking jail terms for no benefit to themselves
Dead people and their relatives
State courts
Federal courts
US Supreme Court
State officials, both Democrat and Republic
County officials, both parties
US Justice Dept
Voting company officials, both those who are for and against President Trump
Other package service companies
Internet companiesWho else am I missing?
@jon-nyc what is the steel strength again at high temperatures? Lol

There will reach a point where the majority of the population are in on it.
When that happens, what then?
-
What then you ask?
More indignation, hand wringing, blame laying and public displays of patriotic machismo. Tattoo parlours and retail sales of camoflage gear will skyrocket.
More vacuous tweets.

One thing Trump did is expose to us how many stupid people live in this country. It's scary. The right wing media machine has brainwashed them all. "democrat evil, socialist, communist, take your money, let the mexicans in" I don't believe there is any turning back on this. These people are doomed to a life of ignorance. Their only saving grace is that they have alot of company so they feel good about being dumb.
-
@nobodyssock This is no different on the left and right. I don't think it's "stupid people". I think it's how social media has amplified and shaped the leanings of people who wouldn't normally be that politically interested.
With the BLM stuff - I noticed a lot of people close to me had no idea what the facts on the ground were, but posted social media posts and formed their opinions mostly on the fact that others in their circle were expressing the same opinion.
I pushed people really close to me to really explain why they believed what they did, and their understanding was usually very shallow. A lot of Canadians actually picked up the BLM mantle in Canada. They had protests and kinda modified to be about indigenous populations because there aren't that many black people in Canada.
I don't want to take this thread on a "social media is bad" tangent - but I don't think this is about people being stupid.
