One of my favourite writers, although I must admit I frequently had to read the book twice before I could figure out what the hell was going on.

Ditto.
Tinker Taylor especially remains a solid favourite which I've re-read a number of times, and is inextricably linked in my mind to the superb BBC version shown back in '79 with Sir Alec in the lead role.
The quality of every scene shines, perfectly capturing the tensions, bluffs and silences in le Carre's written world.
RIP. -

One of the few prolific authors that I can confidently say I’ve read every book he has written, and several including the karla trilogy multiple times.

I too have been an avid fan and reader of LeCarre's novels. He will be missed. RIP.

RIP indeed. What I liked is how he broke the mold in the spy genre. Books like "Night Manager" and "Our Kind of Traitor" were, for me, gripping.

I loved the Karla trilogy. There was this sort of damp grubbiness to everything that felt so completely British.
